Liz Uy: A Study In Contradictions

Celebrity stylist, fashion editor, brand endorser and It-Girl Liz Uy has a flair for picking the latest trend.

With her recently released book published by Summit Media,

Stylized: Liz Uy’s Ten Essentials

she shares with us how, we too, can learn a thing or two, on transforming the trendy into a classic.

Liz Uy definitely knows how to take risks and she can turn even the most fleeting styles into something timeless. Take, for instance, how she wore a bell-sleeved cropped top, which she paired with an envelope purse from the Rags2Riches Fall/Holiday 2013 Collection. There’s something about the way she mixes pieces that makes me feel like I’m suspended somewhere in between old world charm and ultra-fast fashion.

liz3In her next ensemble, she somehow elevated the none-too-esteemed short denim shorts by mixing it with thigh-high boots and a loose-fitting, heavy top, and she still managed to make it look feminine and sophisticated!

Feminine with a bit of edgy describes Liz Uy, and she sought to keep true to these standards in her black patent heels, a knee length pencil skirt and leather jacket. Although, this  ensemble is the least adventurous among the selections in our review, a little conventional compared to the first two (leather is commonplace to Liz’s style), she still captured it.
