Simbang Gabi, Day 2: Fireworks

Traditionally, the magnificence of fireworks are seen as the world ushers in the New Year.  But in the Philippines where the holiday mood kicks in early, you need not wait for New Year’s eve to enjoy a little sparkle or hear a few pops here and there. As early as December 1, you can already see children lighting firecrackers on the streets amplified by their laughter and glee.
